Why Beaudesert Drivers Are Getting Ceramic Coated Right Now

Out here in the Scenic Rim, your paint cops a beating every single week. UV from the Queensland sun breaks down your clear coat. Dust from dirt roads sticks. Bird droppings and tree sap etch in fast when it's this hot. A ceramic coating puts a hard, chemically bonded layer over your paint that stops all of that before it does damage.

It's not just about how the car looks, though it will look sharper than the day you bought it. It's about what your car is worth in two or three years' time. Paint that's faded, scratched, or etched kills resale value fast. A coated car holds its finish and sells for more. Simple as that.

Waxes and sealants wear off in a few months and need redoing constantly. A proper ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat at a molecular level. It doesn't wash off. It doesn't wipe off. Done right, it protects your vehicle for years, not weeks.

The Ceramic Coating Process

1

Quote and Vehicle Assessment

You fill out the quote form and Jack gets back to you within the hour. He'll ask about your vehicle, its current paint condition, and which tier makes sense for what you're after. No pressure, no upselling.

5 mins your end, reply within 1 hour
2

Full Wash and Decontamination

The car gets a thorough two-bucket wash followed by iron fallout remover and tar spotting to strip bonded contamination from the paint surface. This step is not optional. Skipping it means coating over grime, which destroys the result.

45 to 90 mins depending on condition
3

Paint Correction

Depending on the tier you've chosen, paint correction removes swirl marks, light scratches, and water etching using a machine polisher. The surface needs to be as close to flawless as possible before any coating goes on, because the ceramic locks in whatever is underneath it.

2 to 6 hours depending on severity and tier
4

Surface Prep and IPA Wipe-Down

Before the coating is applied, the paint is wiped down with an isopropyl alcohol solution to remove all polish residue, oils, and dust. This is critical. Any contamination left on the surface will stop the ceramic from bonding properly.

20 to 30 mins
5

Ceramic Coating Application

The coating is applied panel by panel using a professional applicator block. It's levelled immediately and allowed to flash before buffing. Every panel is worked carefully so the coating bonds evenly with no high spots or streaks.

1 to 3 hours depending on vehicle size and tier
6

Curing, Final Inspection and Handover

After application the coating needs time to cure before the car is exposed to water or contaminants. Jack does a full final inspection under lighting to check coverage, then walks you through exactly how to look after it to get the most out of the coating long-term.

24-hour initial cure, 7-day full cure. Final inspection 20 mins

Ceramic Coating FAQ

Soaked Detailing offers three tiers of ceramic coating protection, each at a different price point depending on the level of paint correction and coating grade included. Pricing is not listed online because every vehicle comes in a different condition and size. Fill out the quote form and Jack will give you a specific price based on your actual car, usually within the hour.
That depends on the tier you choose and how well you maintain it. Entry-level coatings applied correctly will last one to two years with regular maintenance washes. Professional-grade coatings in the upper tiers can last three to five years or longer. Maintenance washes every four to eight weeks and avoiding automated car washes with brushes will significantly extend the life of your coating.
A basic coating with light prep can be done in half a day. If paint correction is involved, budget a full day. Multi-stage correction with a top-tier coating can take eight hours or more. Jack will give you a realistic time estimate when he assesses your vehicle's condition during the quoting process.
Regular hand washes using a pH-neutral car wash shampoo are all you need for day-to-day maintenance. Avoid drive-through automated washes with brushes as they will scratch the coating. Don't use harsh degreasers or wax-based products on the coated surface. Jack provides a full aftercare guide with every job so you know exactly what to do and what to avoid.
Warranty details are specific to the tier you choose and are discussed at the time of quoting. Higher-tier coatings come with longer coverage periods. Warranties require that the vehicle is maintained correctly, which is why Jack provides a detailed aftercare guide with every coating job. Ask about warranty specifics when you request your quote.
Yes, significantly. Wax sits on top of the paint and lasts a few weeks before it degrades. Paint sealants last a few months. A ceramic coating bonds chemically to your clear coat and becomes part of the surface. It is harder, more hydrophobic, and far more resistant to UV, chemicals, and light scratches than either wax or sealant. You pay more upfront but you don't redo it every few months.
It depends on the condition of your paint. If your car already has swirl marks, fine scratches, or water etching, those defects get locked in permanently once the ceramic coating is applied. For most vehicles with road use behind them, some level of correction is recommended. Jack will assess your paint and let you know honestly whether correction is needed before recommending a tier.
Yes. Jack services the broader Scenic Rim region including Tamborine, Canungra, Boonah, Kalbar, Aratula, Rathdowney, and Kooralbyn. If you're not sure whether your area is covered, put your suburb in the quote form and he'll confirm when he gets back to you.
